Ben Barootes

Benjamin S. W. Barootes is a doctoral student in the English Department at McGill University. He holds a SSHRC CGS Doctoral Scholarship (2009-2012). Ben's second-year research project, supervised by Tom Mole, addressed issues of gift-giving in the literary annuals (gift-books) in the middle decades of the nineteenth century. In April 2009, Ben co-curated an Interacting with Print exhibition, "Interactions of Script and Print in the Nineteenth Century," with Tom Mole, and subsequently worked on the digital version of the exhibition.
